Pudong G4 —— Make A Volcano
Pudong G4 —— Make A Volcano
Pudong G4 did a volcano activity as an introduction toSouth Americaand physical Geography. Students started to bring some newspaper from the beginning of the week. On Thursday, they began to build the volcano. Students ripped up the newspaper into fairly thin strips and cut out the base of the cup and turn upside down onto a plastic bowl which the teacher prepared for them. Students built up the volcano shape with bunched up newspaper that was soaked in the glue and sticked it around the bottom of the cup. The volcanoes need the weekend for dry so that they will be ready on Monday for the working volcano.
On Monday (Week 4), G4 students continued to do the baking soda and vinegar ‘eruption’. The Geo teacher chose one of the volcanoes and poured a tablespoon of baking soda into the open top of the volcano. Then he poured two tablespoons of vinegar into the volcano. Unexpectedly, nothing happened in the first ten seconds. Suddenly, the volcano ‘erupted’ out of the top! That’s amazing! All the students really enjoyed it.
