Octopus Game

Second grade students took advantage of the good weather and went outside to play a game. This game is called “the octopus game.” The rules of the game are very simple. The children all gather on one side of the basketball court. Then they must run to the other side of the court. While the students run across the court, they must avoid two students whose job it is to try and catch the others. If tagged by one of the two students, the other students must freeze on the court where they have been tagged. Then the frozen students have a chance to tag the others the next time they run across the court. The students all played this game with great enthusiasm. Although many students fell down, they all said they hadn’t hurt themselves; in fact, they excitedly asked the teachers if they could play again sometime.
