Grade 10 M3 Course Project Showcase Held
This semester, the high school opened a total of more than 15 courses in G10 M3 course (PBL and Academy), including engineering, economy, psychology, mathematics, material science, model design, experimental science, art performance, etc. The course is scientific, artistic and interesting. Under the guidance of teachers, students learn independently, persist in exploration, and persisted in the exploration of innovative practices throughout the courses. On Jun. 11, 2024, all the G10 students went to the lecture hall of ZTB to conduct their showcases for PBL Projects. Let's take a look at some of the excellent projects presented in these courses.
In the “3D Printing and Design” course, they brainstorm and design a variety of unique art works. Through self-guided learning, they not only expand their creativity, but also enrich the extracurricular activities, and find their own interest.
“Racing Challenge” course focuses on the engineering principle of car model designs and various materials needed for making car modules. Combining engineering with model design, students have learnt not only the principles of physics, by applying the electric motors to the car design, but also exercised the hands-on ability of the project.
The “Fundamentals of Protection and Restoration of Ancient Ceramics” course involves the painting technique and craftsmanship, the students feel the charm of ancient ceramic restoration technique while experiencing the fun of handmade in the process of making exquisite art works.
"Chess" course explains the theoretical knowledge of the opening, middle and ending positions in chess. The value of each piece on the board is observed and evaluated. All the moves of the white and black are analyzed and explained, which reflect chess tactics and different ways of thinking. This chess game not only shows the layout of the chess players, which requires strong observation and analysis skills, but also needs calm and resolute character; Meanwhile, it can reflect their thinking agility and rigor.
Since its inception, the PBL/Academy course focuses learning in an independent and cooperative way, aiming to cultivate students' comprehensive ability to analyze and solve problems, and prepare them for future project training and competitions. The curriculum broadens students' interdisciplinary horizons, enriches their extracurricular interests, and fully stimulates their desire for knowledge and exploration. We believe that in the near future, more exploratory and interesting courses will continue to emerge, igniting students' curiosity and leading them to pursue their passions and interests further and further!
