High School | Tech Unlocks Minds, Seminars Spark Inspiration — Teachers' PD Event Centers on “Tech Empowering Ed”

On June 25th, SHSID high school teachers converged at XMT for a groundbreaking PD event titled "Tech Empowering Ed." The objective of this unique event was to delve into innovative uses of technology in education, igniting teachers' passion for innovative teaching practices and elevating the quality of education offered to students.



At the opening of the event, three student representatives took to the stage, sharing their exciting journeys and accomplishments in cutting-edge technology domains such as game development, medical service platform programming, and robotics competitions. These captivating stories not only exhibited the students' remarkable achievements in technology but also underscored the remarkable impact of the school's education in fostering technological literacy and innovative thinking among its students. Inspired by these presentations, teachers reaffirmed their commitment to a competency-driven teaching approach, aiming to nurture a new generation of talents with a spirit of innovation and practical skills.



The event also featured a grand award ceremony, honoring teachers for their exceptional contributions. Fifteen teachers, renowned for their precise and insightful comments, received the "Insightful Commentary Award." Additionally, seven teachers, proficient in utilizing platforms to document students' growth and progress, were awarded the "Record-Keeping Award." These accolades serve as a testament to the teachers' dedication and hard work, while encouraging them to continue their efforts in the future.



After the initial accolades, the PD event entered a dynamic phase of sharing and interaction. During this segment, the latest advancements in the smart campus system were introduced by Ms. Liu Shan, director of SHSID High School Teaching Affairs Center, emphasizing how to create multi-faceted learning profiles for students and leverage technological tools to assess their performance in a more objective and scientific manner.



Subsequently, teachers embarked on a journey of exploration in nine specialized workshops tailored to their individual interests and professional inclinations. Led by 13 pioneering teachers, these workshops served as platforms for sharing unique insights and hands-on experiences in technology-enhanced teaching methods. Discussions centered on leveraging AI, Apps, and other cutting-edge technological tools to enhance teaching efficiency, as well as utilizing online platforms like BB to foster deeper student-teacher engagement. Principal Ma presented certificates to the workshop leaders, expressing his gratitude for their participation and dedication, highlighting the significance of technology in modern education, and urging teachers to remain on the forefront of tech-driven learning initiatives.



The workshops fostered a vibrant atmosphere of collaboration and learning. Teachers actively participated, engaging in thoughtful discussions and exploring the vast potential of technology in education. They agreed that the exchange was enriching, broadening their teaching skills and reigniting their passion for innovation. Many plan to utilize their summer break to deepen their technological knowledge, aiming to provide a more immersive, engaging, and effective learning experience for their students in the next semester.
