Grades 9-10: Young Candidates Shined in the ASB Election

September 19, 2024

On September 18, 2024, both ninth and tenth grade students gathered in the Grand Auditorium to witness the annual ASB (Associated Student Body) Election.

Before the official election, all participants had contributed to various preparatory work, such as class selections and promotions of their self-made posters. The entire process was filled with tension and excitement. Each registered candidate first provided a speech to their fellow classmates, showcasing their talents and enthusiasm for future plans. After the voting process, the list of candidates for each class was finalized for the main election. Subsequently, the candidates further designed their posters to win the support of everyone in the grade.

The formal election was divided into two sections: individual speeches and a video promotion. The speech segment was truly exciting, as the tremendous efforts of each candidate can be seen through their speeches. Each participant practiced repeatedly off the stage, striving to present the best version of themselves in front of the audience. When each student walked onto the stage one by one to demonstrate their speeches, their classmates were deeply attracted by their talent and persuasive speeches. After each contestant finished their speech, warm applauses and cheers from the audience evidenced the recognition for each contestant’s efforts and abilities.

The most intense and thrilling part was the 30 seconds of convincing the audience to vote. Each candidate responded the challenge with humor and eager, using speeches, singing, or other unique ways to showcase their intelligence, confidence, and affinity in all aspects.

Regardless of whether they were selected for ASB or not, all participants that contributed to the annual election gained valuable experience overall. We should all applaud to their willingness to help and serve their peers.
