Puxi Campus G7 | New Goal, New Journey - 7th Grade “Goal Setting”.
At the beginning of the new school year, seventh grade teachers and students launched a series of educational and teaching activities based on the theme of “Goal Setting”. Teachers always emphasize the importance of setting goals according to the SMART criteria, which stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. From the explanation of the theme of the morning session, to the hands-on teaching of goal-setting, to the focused feedback on the problems encountered in the process of goal-setting, as well as the excellent experiences that can be shared, the children deeply benefited from this experience.
As a student representative, Chloe from Class 7-3 spoke with deep emotion that every semester, the school guides us to set goals within the school system. Students are encouraged to set goals whether aiming for good grades, participating in sports or arts, or developing leadership skills, all of which contribute to our overall growth and success. Setting goals is essential for development for several reasons. Firstly, it helps students learn important life skills. Secondly, having clear goals provides stud nets with a direction to strive towards, motivating they to work hard and stay focused throughout the semester. Furthermore, achieving our goals in school gives us a sense of confidence. As hard work gradually pays off in the form of good grades, successful performances, or personal achievements students become more confident and therefore will set even higher goals.
Setting goals helps students develop a growth mindset. This mindset is crucial for long-term success, as it fosters resilience and adaptability in the face of adversity. Moreover, the process of goal setting teaches students the importance of self-discipline and accountability. The skills and mindset not only enhance the academic and extracurricular achievements but also prepare students for a brighter future career.
