History and Geography Department:“Age of Absolutism” Presentation Activity

In early October, Grade 10 History teachers organized a project based on the unit “Age of Absolutism” with the theme “Who Would You Hire”. Working in groups, students were required to select 6 candidates from 12 resumes, interview them to decide which one would be the new ruler of their “country”, and create a PowerPoint presentation to explain why they chose the new ruler. In the process, each group selected candidate monarchs, researched their life stories, created resumes, and participated in an interview to make an optimal choice. This student-centered classroom activity gave full play to the initiative of the students, who worked in groups to gain a more comprehensive and deeper understanding of the Age of Absolutism.
