Grade 10 Assembly: Sleeping Well Is Important
On October 16, 10th grade students gathered in the drama room of the Zhongxing Building to participate in the grade assembly.
Psychology teacher Ms. Yu gave a lecture on sleep to the crowd of students. The lecture started with the question 'Why do we need to sleep well?', which further led to the audience engaging in active discussions. Afterwards, Ms. Yu made the students realize that teenagers need eight to ten hours of sleep every day through an interesting set of true or false questions. Even if students are busy with their studies, they should continue to maintain a certain amount of sleep during the nights. When a person is in a state of sleep, the brain helps us remember knowledge efficiently. For example, going to bed early the day before an exam can help us perform at preferable standards. On the other hand, sleeping can also burn 400 calories, helping us to maintain a good physique.
Additionally, it is important to note that sleep has a stabilizing effect on emotions. Going to bed early and waking up early can improve one's emotions the following day. At the end of the assembly, Ms. Yu recommended a table for managing a sleep schedule to the students, hoping that they could try adapting to their new sleep schedules to promote brain development and the improvement of their physical and mental health.
