Grades 11-12: College Fair Held at SHSID
On October 16, during the lunch break, the stands of many colleges sprung up in Zhongxing Building as high schoolers welcomed the advent of another college fair. Students browsed the stands and listened to each university's programs and admission requirements. The half-hour lunch break was soon over; however, the CAS class for this afternoon will be spent on listening to the lectures prepared by the admission officers, where the colleges of students' selection shall be introduced more thoroughly to the eleventh- and twelfth-grade students.
As CAS approached, the admission officers brought their posters to the classrooms in Xianmian Building. In this activity, top academies such as Science Po and Fudan University arrived at SHSID to promote. Soon, students filed into the lectures they had chosen. Some classrooms were crowded with students, and newcomers had to stand by the wall to take part in.
For the two lectures, the admission officers enthusiastically talked about their universities’ history, student life, and admission requirements. Some admission officers even prepared quizzes to better engage students in the lecture. At the end of each lecture, students actively asked questions to address their concerns. Finally, the bell rang again, signifying the end of the activity. No doubt that as college application looms increasingly closer, the eleventh and twelfth graders must all have a dream college that they want to reach and now know what they must do to achieve it.
