SHSID High School Students Shine in Science Events
Three High School Students Recognized as Top Young Scientists at Sci-T Conference
Three talented high school students from SHSID have been selected among the top 100 young scientists nationwide to participate in the 2024 Sci-T Conference at the World Laureates Forum. This prestigious event, held from October 26th to 27th, gathered world-renowned scientists, including members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, to mentor young minds.
At the conference, SHSID's three Sci-Ters actively engaged in discussions, posing insightful questions that impressed the attending experts. The students demonstrated their knowledge and curiosity at the October 27th "Tablecloth Forum," where they collaborated with global scientists to explore challenging scientific questions on topics such as the origin of life, humanity's future, and the concept of infinity in matter. Their insights are unique, and their thinking is agile, demonstrating the immense potential and creativity of young people on the path of scientific exploration.
Among the high-achieving Sci-Ters, two were selected to give presentations on their current research, receiving high praise from the attending scientists. Throughout subsequent group discussions, the students represented SHSID with confidence, guiding dialogues and excelling in their presentations with a solid foundation in theoretical knowledge.
Additionally, another high school student from SHSID volunteered at the World Laureates Forum’s "For Girls in Science" section, assisting with event logistics and showcasing a commendable sense of social responsibility.
Student Invited to the 2024 UN China Youth Environment Forum
On October 27th, the UN China Youth Environment Forum was also held in Shanghai. With the theme of "Beautiful China, Zero-Carbon Action", the event promoted ecological values and encouraged youth to champion a sustainable, low-carbon future.
An SHSID high school student attended the roundtable discussion as a student representative. During the conversation, he engaged in meaningful exchanges with experts about practical ways for the youth to foster green and low-carbon initiatives under the theme "Beautiful China, I Am Taking Action".
In the recent iGEM competition, SHSID high school students showcased their talents on a global stage. Last weekend, they celebrated outstanding results, winning multiple awards, including prestigious gold and silver medals.
The achievements of these SHSID students in science and technology underscore the school’s commitment to personalized and lifelong student development. We look forward to seeing them reach new heights in their scientific journeys, exploring their potential while inspiring peers to join the pursuit of scientific discovery for a better world.
