Grade 11 Assembly: The Introduction of Junior Project

November 4, 2024

On Thursday, October 31, the juniors gathered in the XMT Auditorium for their weekly assembly.

This time, Ms. Yu explained the Junior Project in detail to the juniors. The project will be guided by the question “What can we do to improve the quality of life in Shanghai?” and requires students to step into their communities, make tangible contributions, and wrap their 7-month-long project into a presentation and visual component. Furthermore, each group will have a mentor to provide feedback. During this process, students are encouraged to approach the question from multiple perspectives, employing the knowledge they learned from subject classes and transferring them into skills that can be applied in real life. Ms. Yu also showed two past projects as examples—coffee culture and bird collisions in Shanghai—to provide some inspiration.

The release of the junior project topic not only provided students with a platform to combine theoretical knowledge with practice but also stimulated their attention and reflection on social issues. Ms. Yu hoped that students would continue to apply what they had learned into their lives, making greater contributions to society.
