Academic Competition | Australian Intermediate Mathematics Olympiad (AIMO) Awards Winners

November 4, 2024

September, 2024, our students participated in the Australian Intermediate Mathematics Olympiad (AIMO), either online or in their respective exam centers.

The Australian Mathematics Trust (AMT), founded by Peter O'Halloran, is a national non-profit organization whose purpose is to enrich the teaching and learning of mathematics for students of all standards. AMT holds mathematics and informatics competitions, administers enrichment activities, conducts workshops for students and teachers, and publishes books on mathematical enrichment for Australian and international students.

The Australian Intermediate Mathematics Olympiad (AIMO) sponsored by the Australian Mathematics Trust (AMT) is a challenging competition. Students are required to solve 10 problems in four hours without the use of a calculator. It gives talented students an opportunity to be recognised and to participate in activities which will enhance their enjoyment and knowledge of mathematics.

A special shout out to the students from SHSID for their outstanding performance during the exam: they have won 9 Global Prizes, including 4 Global High Distinctions, 4 Global Distinctions, and 1 Global Credit from the exam.
