Deepening Homework Management: SHSID Joins Forces with Expert to Rethink Educational Approaches
On November 8, 2024, Dr. Wang Yuefen, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission's Teaching Research Office, was invited to give a lecture on the theme of "Homework with Competency Awareness" to the high school teachers of SHSID. The meeting was presided by Ms. Liu Shan, Director of the Teaching Affairs Center of High School, and attended by the high school teachers.
The proper management of students' workload has been one of the priorities of high school teaching, and the high school has been implementing the innovative SMART-H strategy since the beginning of this semester, which encompasses reasonable assignment volume, multiple assignment design, active feedback and correction, effective use of academic resources, and innovative teaching methods. While the teachers have seen some breakthrough, the teaching team is still continuously striving for higher levels of optimization, especially in the area of differentiated assignments. And this lecture came at the right time.
Dr. Wang, with her extensive experience and profound insights in the field of homework management and curriculum reform, brought to the teachers many new perspectives. Her lecture not only delved into challenges faced by teachers but also explored the core value of assignments and its function of stimulating students' autonomous learning abilities, offering high school teachers new insights and solutions.
SHSID continues to forge ahead on the path of educational exploration and teaching quality enhancement. We firmly believe that through such professional development activities, teachers can be further inspired to promote the comprehensive development of students.
