Hsi Building Library of Middle and Primary School: A New Realm for Knowledge Exploration

The Hsi Building Library of SHSID Middle and Primary School embraces the design concept of "Mystic Exploration," incorporating elements of forests and caves throughout its reading spaces, creating a mysterious and enchanting atmosphere. For children who love reading and are drawn to nature, this library is not only a "paradise" for absorbing knowledge but also a dynamic space for learning and communication.



Self-Service Borrowing and Returning: A Lightning-Fast Start to Your Reading Journey


In the early morning, sunlight pours through the library’s large windows, casting light on elementary students in the sunken reading area as they begin their morning reading sessions. In front of the self-service borrowing and returning machine, "greedy" young readers, arms full of desired books, gently place them on the sensor area. "Beep!" — The borrowing process is completed in an instant.



Digital Resources: Connecting the Knowledge Forest to the World


The library also serves as a classroom for developing students' information literacy. Students can use E-Ink Pad readers and Mac computers to access Wisdom Library in Lingang – SHS Branch Website, where they can search, inquire, and browse both Chinese and English digital collections, enjoying an efficient and comfortable reading experience.



3D Reading: Exploring the Infinite Possibilities of Learning


The Library has introduced 3D micro-video reading machines, providing students with an interactive, self-guided reading experience. With glasses-free 3D technology, students can gain a clearer understanding of the objects they observe, resulting in a unique and vivid learning experience.



Smart Book Borrowing Cabinet: A Library at Your Fingertips


The  Library also boasts a tireless new "staff member" — the 24-hour smart book borrowing cabinet, located on the first floor of Building A. It offers readers convenient, round-the-clock borrowing services.



Relaxed Reading: A Space for Mental Rejuvenation


Additionally, the library features two reading rooms on the 6th floors of Buildings C and D. These spaces provide a spacious, quiet, and comfortable reading environment, while also serving as venues for various themed events.
