High School Biology Department: Plant Printing House Activity Held

On November 15, Ms. Li and Ms. Zhang, two House Mentors, held a House activity with the theme of "Plant Printing - DIY bags" in Zhongxing Building, attracting many students to participate.





Plant Printing, also known as "pounding grass printing". This technique uses flowers, grasses, stems, leaves and other materials of plants in nature to penetrate the plant liquid into the fabric by pounding, leaving the natural pigment, shape and vein texture of the plant. Under the guidance of the two teachers, the students collected the tender leaves and flowers of herbaceous plants, used them to assemble creative and beautiful patterns on the canvas bags. Then, fixed the plant samples with scotch tape. After that, students used rubber hammers to continuously pound these plant organs. After beating and then tearing off the scotch tape, the color and texture of the plant organs were printed on the canvas bag. The sound of beating not only made the students feel the joy of crafting, but also attracted many other students passing by to participate in this activity.


Through this House activity, the students improved their hands-on skills, and realized the wisdom contained in the traditional crafts of people in the past. The products were also loved by the students.
