Puxi Campus G6: Talent Show
The G6 Talent Show was held in the auditorium to warm applause on Thursday, May 9th. The students brought a musical feast of unique talents and wonderful performances filled with drums, electric guitars, saxophones, pianos, musicals, ballet and jazz dances. This multicultural artistic display not only demonstrated the students' extensive involvement in the field of music, but also highlighted their creative spirits and artistic pursuits.
After the audience was ushered in, the talented hosts, 6-5 Ben and 6-2 Chris, announced the commencement of the talent show. The first performance was a drum performance of "I Just Wanna Run". 6-6 Julian demonstrated the unique charm of drums with his powerful drum beats, while 6-11 Melody, holding an electric guitar, lit up the whole audience with her passionate song "Poetry of the Birds". Her impressive skills, unique tone and heartfelt interpretation charmed the audience and allowed them to indulge in the unique allure of rock music. 6-5 T.T. Zhang brought a warm and touching atmosphere with his saxophone solo, "The Goal is to be the Master of Pokémon", which mesmerized the audience. 6-9 Holly and 6-7 Dorren serenaded the crowd with "I See The Light" and Italian songs "How Happily Ever After" and "How Happy I Am To Praise You". With their clear and infectious voices, they conquered the teachers and students in attendance.
The following act was a beautiful blend of jazz and ballet performed by 6-8 Ivory and 6-12 Arabella, who gracefully stepped into the center of the stage in their tutus. Each ballet step was precise and elegant, each movement full of poetry and beauty. Instantly the lights came into focus and 6-10 Leyla, 6-7 Sophia and 6-9 Zoe, dressed in jazz costumes, ignited the whole audience with their dynamic jazz dance. Their agile posture, unique dance steps and powerful dance performance allowed the audience feel the freedom and vitality of jazz dance. 6-11 Yaya, Stanley and 6-1 Miffy group sang "Virtual" and 6-5 Summer sang the heartfelt song "As I Wish".
Afterwards, three piano solos appeared in turn, with 6-10 Oliver, 6-7 Olivia and 6-2 Stephen's fingertips jumping on the keys, each playing one of many moving beautiful melodies and heartfelt renditions, winning the audience's applause.
The debut of the student band ushered in another climax of the performance. 5 students formed a band to bring the classic love song "Fireworks are Easy to Cold"; another band "Stringed to Panic" also performed "The Lanting Preface," one of the masterpieces of Zhou's love songs, which was hummed along by students and teachers on and off the stage.
6-4 Isabella and 6-1 Zhang Hannah performed the duet "Moon Trance", a delicate and melodious piece that spoke to the heart. The long-rehearsed musical "We don't talk about Bruno" was written and directed by our students, showing the unique charm of musicals through singing, dancing and entertaining dialogue. The last surprise was the joyful chorus in which the memories of SpongeBob SquarePants cartoon were instantly evoked, and the performance came to a successful end in the midst of laughter.
The success of the show not only enriched campus cultural life, but also provided an opportunity for the students to show themselves and exercise their abilities. Some students said, "This performance made me more confident, and I realized that as long as I work hard, I can show my best self on the stage." Other students said that both the practice of dance moves and the singing skills of songs require constant practice and polishing. This spirit of excellence will be a valuable asset in their future study and life.
Moving forward, we expect all of these musically talented students to continue on the road of performance art and add more excitement and vitality to the campus culture with their talent and enthusiasm.
