High School Math: SHSID Students Won IMMC 2024 Awards

In the 10th International Mathematical Modeling Challenge (IMMC 2024), SHSID High School achieved fruitful results, with one team designated as Outstanding in the Regional Round, two teams as Finalists, and two teams as Meritorious; as well as one team designated as Finalists and one team as Meritorious in the International Round.

IMMC Regional Round emphasizes the integration of mathematics, science, and engineering in STEM education, as well as the practical applications of mathematics in daily life and societal production. The competition topics for 2024, such as "The Roof in Cloudburst", "2201: A Space Odyssey", and "Picking the Perfect Pet", not only tested students' innovation and practical skills, but also sparked their imagination and aspirations for future technology.

In this year's competition, the teams from SHSID High school demonstrated talent and resilience. Confronted with challenging problems, they maintained a high level of teamwork, actively sought solutions. Particularly noteworthy is the team composed of 10th-grade students CY, Daniel, Felix, and Kevin, who presented unique insights and practical solutions for fair material distribution in space. With high-quality papers and impressive presentation skills, this team won the highest honor in the Regional Round—Outstanding.

We extend our congratulations to all the winning teams and look forward to their continued excellent performance in future competitions. SHSID will continue to explore and implement innovative interdisciplinary teaching methods, providing a broader platform and stronger support for students' holistic development.
