Puxi Campus G8: Introduction to High School Courses
Time flies like an arrow. High school, a seemingly distant term for most middle school students, is no longer in the faraway future, but rather, an immanent upcoming reality a few short months away. While welcoming the arrival of 9 grade, the students are also facing their first high school course selection. To help these middle schoolers have a better understanding on high school courses, the school organized a lecture during a double YD period, inviting high schoolers and high school teachers to introduce the different classes available.
These experienced teachers and students explained the choice of courses for grade 9. They began their lecture by talking about chemistry, the new subject that students are both looking forward to and worried about. The lecturer explained what they have learned in a year, the challenges they need to deal with, and the ways to preview and review. The students listened attentively and took notes carefully to prepare for the next year's study. When introducing biology, the speech students used humorous language to bring up curiosity and enthusiasm for the course. In music and art, which are widely loved by the students, the teacher introduced the art theories, creations, and performance opportunities in the course. In addition to the aforementioned subjects, teachers of computer science, physics, and geography meticulously explain the content, suitable students, and future development directions of each subject.
The content prepared by the speakers encouraged every student to listen attentively, and effectively provided them with details and options. This lecture not only provided students with ample space for thinking and reflection, but also allowed the students to learn about high school life from the perspective of experienced seniors. Learning this way encouraged all to engage in thorough communication and ask important questions.
Thank you to the teachers and high schoolers who have thoroughly prepared for this speech. We hope that each student can use this information to choose the courses that best suit them.
