Grade 10 Assembly: Cultural Expression and Acts of Kindness
On the morning of May 21, the weekly assembly was held as usual. It began with a briefing on the highly anticipated Survival Training. The teacher reminded students to prepare the necessary gear and clothing, ensuring everyone is ready for the upcoming outdoor experience. The announcement sparked excitement among students as they looked forward to the adventure ahead.
Next, members of the L2D club took the stage with a captivating vocal performance. Their natural and confident singing won over the entire audience. After the performance, they announced that their full drama production would be presented next week in the drama room—something everyone is now looking forward to.
Following that, students from the Youshan Club introduced a dramatic scene written by Bai Xianyong. Although both English and Chinese pieces were theatrical, the cultural differences gave each a distinct style and emotional tone. The contrast offered a powerful glimpse into the uniqueness of Chinese drama and its deep cultural roots.
To conclude the assembly, students from the Shangyuan Club shared updates on their recent donation campaign. Over the past few weeks, they collected books and backpacks for students in Yunnan, receiving an overwhelmingly positive response from the school community. At the end of the meeting, the club presented certificates of appreciation to all donors, recognizing their generosity. Through this heartfelt initiative, students successfully shared their kindness and support with children far away in Yunnan.
