High School Chinese Department: MIX DAY Preparation Meeting Held
On May 22, the high school Chinese Department held a MIX DAY preparation meeting. Mr. Zhuang, the teaching and research group leader, chaired the meeting, with all Chinese teachers participating to plan the cultural event. Mr. Zhuang announced that this year’s MIX DAY will take place in early June, emphasizing its goal to enhance students’ cross-cultural literacy and practical skills through multicultural integration. He stated, “MIX DAY is a platform for students to showcase their language abilities and teamwork. The Chinese Department must meticulously design distinctive programs to highlight the charm of Chinese culture.”
According to the plan, the Chinese Department will organize three main activities: original script performances blending classical literature with modern themes, created and directed by students; traditional dance showcases featuring Han-Tang dynasties and ethnic cultural elements; and a cultural experience zone with interactive projects such as calligraphy and sachet-making. Teachers will guide all programs to ensure high-quality delivery.
With preparations entering the critical phase, Mr. Zhuang stressed the need to “integrate traditional culture with modern expression to deepen students’ cultural identity.” All the teachers pledged their full commitment to creating an educational and visually captivating cultural event.
