Welcome to High School: Grade 9’s First Lesson

On the afternoon of August 31, the ninth graders officially switched gears into the new semester with a launch lesson held in the Annex Auditorium of Xianmian Building, marking the official start of their high school journey.


The session began with the speech of Ms. Chen, G9 Grade Supervisor, as she reminded students about the importance of safety awareness, including personal, food, laboratory, and online security. She also announced that the survival training would be held next semester, receiving excited reactions from the audience. Ms. Chen further introduced the wide range of opportunities in high school life, including diverse course selections and colorful extracurricular club activities.



Following this, Ms. Ye, from the Teacher Advisors (TA) Office, explained the role of the TAs in providing counseling, high school planning, and support for students. She emphasized that the TAs will assist in areas such as reflection, goal setting, and course selection. Students also learned about the six Peer Advisor (PA) departments they can join, as well as upcoming activities like Job Shadow Day, Career Day, and House Programs.



Finally, Ms. Cui from the College Counseling Office, introduced the full range of support provided by the office. Starting from Grade 9, the office guides students to explore their interests and access university information. Ms. Cui also explained the arrangements for standardized tests and college visit activities, presenting a comprehensive four-year high school plan that guides students to the right direction for their future preparation.



This launch lesson not only provided students with a clear roadmap for the semester ahead but also encouraged them to embrace both opportunities and challenges with confidence. The event symbolized a fresh beginning filled with potential and enthusiasm.
