Grade 12 Assembly: How to Plan and Manage Large Projects

September 15, 2025

On the morning of September 12, 2025, Grade 12 students gathered in the Xianmian Annex Auditorium for the weekly Assembly.

This week, Osmond from 12(6) shared his experience on how to plan and manage large projects. He introduced the “Pruning Cycle”: first Build large (explore widely), then Build high (aim for complex goals), followed by Evaluate (find the best path), and finally Prune (cut away redundant work). Using his experience in developing an AI-and-gaming model, Osmond demonstrated how broad exploration can be gradually refined into a focused, efficient outcome. His approach emphasized clarity, efficiency, and goal orientation, encouraging other Grade 12 students to apply similar project management strategies during the college application season so they can present clearer ideas and achieve better results.

To conclude the Assembly, the 12 Grade presented the Scholar Awards, honoring students with outstanding achievements in academic learning, sports, and arts. Everyone cheered for the award-winning students and expressed hopes that all students would achieve even more in the new year.
