Puxi Campus G4-8: Fire Drill
In order to effectively enhance fire safety awareness and self-rescue capabilities of teachers and students and strengthen the campus safety, Puxi Campus of SHSID organized a fire emergency evacuation drill for all teachers and students from grades 4 to 8 on the afternoon of September 11. The exercise simulated real-life evacuation routes to further raise safety awareness and improve emergency response and coordination abilities.
The school has always prioritized strengthening campus safety and implementing fire safety education as key tasks. At the beginning of the semester, each class conducted a thematic fire safety session where homeroom teachers explained evacuation routes and related precautions to students, and prepared three-color indicator cards for post-assembly information feedback. Teachers also used floor plans of the academic building to highlight the locations of exits, staircases, and evacuation routes, ensuring students could evacuate orderly along designated paths. Through pre-drill safety education, teachers emphasized the necessity of mastering fire safety knowledge in an accessible manner, further enhancing students' safety awareness.
On the afternoon of September 11, as the fire alarm suddenly sounded, teachers and students promptly evacuated their classrooms and moved along predetermined routes to designated assembly areas in a tense yet orderly manner. Guided by their teachers, students covered their noses and mouths, assumed protective postures, and followed the planned evacuation routes to quickly and orderly retreat to safe zones near the academic building. Within the stipulated time, all teachers and students safely reached the assigned assembly points, achieving the desired outcomes of a well-organized drill.
Upon arrival, homeroom teachers immediately conducted headcounts and accurately reported the status using three-color indicator cards. The entire evacuation process, though urgent, proceeded without chaos, demonstrating the students' composure and calmness— a testament to their strong psychological preparedness and effective routine training.
After the drill, each class held reflection and discussion sessions. Students deepened their understanding of self-protection and teamwork in emergencies. The drill improved the teachers' and students' emergency readiness and reinforced the school's safety system. Moving forward, SHSID Puxi Campus will continue to strengthen safety education and solidly reinforce the foundation of campus security to provide a secure environment for all students.
