Lin'gang Campus: Fire Drill

September 23, 2025

Recently, to strengthen fire safety awareness and emergency evacuation capabilities within the school community, the Lin'gang Campus of SHSID conducted a coordinated fire drill for all teachers and students in Grades 1 through 3. The exercise emphasized realistic, scenario-based training to improve crisis response and collective coordination.

In preparation for the drill, homeroom teachers across all grades held specialized fire safety lessons in recent weeks. Using detailed floor plans, the teachers highlighted emergency exits, staircases, and evacuation routes, ensuring all students were familiar with protocols before today's activity.

The drill commenced sharply at 12:45 PM with the sounding of the fire alarm. Students quickly covered their noses and mouths and evacuated in an orderly, crouched manner along designated escape paths. Faculty members were strategically positioned in hallways and near stairwells to supervise and maintain a smooth flow, preventing crowding or bottlenecks.

The entire school body safely reached the designated outdoor assembly area within approximately three minutes. Homeroom teachers quickly accounted for all students and reported attendance to administrative officials, confirming that the exercise aligned with emergency preparedness guidelines. A debriefing session followed, allowing students and teachers to reflect on the experience and reinforce the importance of calmness and cooperation during emergencies. Ms. Fu Bing, Director of SHSID Lin'gang Campus, commended the participants for their disciplined conduct and underscored the school's commitment to holding regular safety drills.

Through this fire drill, students not only learned practical fire safety knowledge and escape skills but also strengthened their emergency response and self-rescue abilities. The success of the exercise was made possible by the school's thorough planning, teachers' careful guidance, and the full cooperation of every student. In the future, SHSID Lin'gang Campus will continue to prioritize safety education through periodic drills and instructional programs, ensuring a secure and supportive learning environment for every student.
