Puxi Campus G1-3: 2025 Sports Carnival
In the golden days of October, sunshine bathed the playground as a light breeze carried laughter through the air. The SHSID Grades 1–3 Sports Carnival opened with great excitement. Dressed in their grade T-shirts, students marched in neat lines behind their class banners, their bright smiles and confident steps reflecting anticipation for the fun ahead.

Host Mr. Walker enthusiastically declared the opening of the ceremony, and the children greeted the guests with warm applause. Celine from Class 3(7) then delivered a heartfelt speech as the athlete representative. She shared her love for sports and what she had learned from it: “The best part of sports isn’t just winning—it’s about giving it your all, never giving up even when it’s hard, and always supporting your teammates.” Her words inspired everyone to embrace the true spirit of sportsmanship.

Next, Section Director Ms. Zhang Yi gave an opening address, expressing gratitude to all teachers and parent volunteers for their dedication. She reminded students that more important than winning or losing is the effort, respect, encouragement, and joy found in every game. Her speech filled the field with warmth and motivation.

The cheers grew louder as each grade chanted its slogan with pride, their voices echoing across the playground. Students then performed a lively group dance, moving energetically to upbeat music, showing confidence, rhythm, and teamwork. Teachers joined in the fun with a hilarious “Caterpillar Dash,” sending waves of laughter through the crowd.
Finally, Vice Principal Ms. Liu Fang officially announced the start of the carnival, and the competitions began amid cheers and excitement. The field soon came alive with shouts of encouragement and bursts of laughter.
Students took turns in obstacle relays, water relays, and ball-rolling relays, showcasing agility, balance, and cooperation. In the water relay, little hands carefully carried sponges full of water, while in the ball relay, students focused intently to guide their balls along the track.
Under the guidance of their teachers, classes later joined the Caterpillar Race, Partner Soccer, and Cornhole Challenge. Teammates coordinated perfectly on the caterpillars, partners kicked soccer balls in sync, and players cheered each successful throw into the cornhole board.

Each event blended fun with challenge, effort with joy. Their confident movements, ringing chants, and bright smiles formed a vivid picture of youthful energy. Beyond competition, students learned perseverance, courage, and the power of teamwork.
The success of the event owed much to the thoughtful planning of PE teachers and homeroom teachers, as well as the support of enthusiastic parent volunteers who captured wonderful moments and ensured smooth coordination throughout.
Though the carnival ended, the joy and excitement on the children’s faces lingered. With this passion for sports in their hearts, they will continue to grow, stay active, and keep shining brightly in every new challenge ahead.
