Lin'gang Campus: Trip to the Shanghai Astronomy Museum
In the golden days of October, when the skies are clear and the air is crisp, there is no better time to venture outdoors and embrace nature. Students in Grades 1-3 at SHSID, Lin'gang Campus, brimming with excitement and anticipation, embarked on an autumn journey to the Shanghai Astronomy Museum. The trip aimed to extend the classroom into a broader world, allowing the children to experience the vastness of the universe and the wonders of science through immersive exploration. Under the careful organization and guidance of their teachers, the children boarded the buses in an orderly manner. The school buses, carrying the children's boundless curiosity, set off for the magnificent building dedicated to "connecting people with the universe."
As they stepped into the Shanghai Astronomy Museum, the children felt as though they had traveled through time and space, embarking on a marvelous interstellar adventure. Starting from the "Home" exhibition zone, they wandered under the deep starry sky, familiarizing themselves with the Sun, Earth, and Moon, and uncovering the mysteries of day-and-night cycles and seasonal changes. The giant models of Earth and the moon, along with the realistic starry scenes, elicited gasps of amazement from the children.

In the "Universe" exhibition zone, the children delved into deeper reflections on the cosmos, guided by themes such as "time and space," "gravity," and "light." Although some concepts were challenging for the younger students, the interactive installations, engaging animated demonstrations, and breathtaking visual displays sparked their curiosity and planted seeds of a passion for science.

The most thrilling part for the children was the "Journey" exhibition zone. Following the footsteps of human space exploration, from ancient astronomical observations to futuristic concepts of space cities, they experienced the rapid advancements in science and technology. Gazing at the towering model of the Chang'e Lunar Exploration Project and the Yutu Rover, the children's eyes shone with wonder for the unknown and pride in their country's aerospace achievements.

Throughout the visit, the SHSID students demonstrated immense curiosity, excellent discipline, and a spirit of exploration. They listened attentively to explanations, asked questions enthusiastically, interacted with the exhibits, observed the grandeur of the universe with innocent eyes, and felt the magic of science with their young hearts.
This trip to the Shanghai Astronomy Museum was not only a delightful autumn outing but also a vivid and profound hands-on lesson. It broadened the children's horizons, enriched their astronomical knowledge, and further ignited their enthusiasm for scientific exploration. May SHSID students always retain this curiosity about the world as they continue to explore bravely and move forward on their future journeys!
