Stay Informed about Career Choices and Future Developments: G11-12 Career Day Held
On the afternoon of October 29th, seniors and juniors at SHSID participated in the annual Career Day event. This year, we invited 19 professional guest speakers from various industries to gather in the Xianmian Building and share their unique career insights and personal journeys. Before the event, each student selected two lectures that interested them. On the day of the event, they went to the Xianmian Building to gain valuable perspectives on potential future career paths.

Once they arrived at the designated classrooms, the students immersed themselves in the lectures provided by each guest speaker. Besides explaining how their respective industries operate and sharing their personal experiences, the guests also offered seniors and juniors valuable career development advice.

The lectures covered a broad range of fields, including dentistry, finance, medicine, management, technology, art, music, human resources, and marine science. This wide spectrum gave students plenty of choices.

Throughout the event, students actively engaged with the guest speakers by asking thoughtful questions, demonstrating their curiosity and ability to reflect deeply. Drawing from their own personal experiences, the guests answer each question, whether that is about college majors, job opportunities, or future career developments, with much detail. Through these face-to-face discussions, students gained a deeper understanding of the industries that interest them—it was undoubtedly a highly rewarding experience for all involved.

No matter the career, discovering the field they are passionate about will help students establish a compass for their future. The concept of careers has become increasingly tangible for all juniors and seniors. Therefore, every story and piece of advice shared on Career Day serves as valuable inspiration for students as they step into adulthood.
