Award Ceremony for Charity Fair at SHSID High School Successfully Concluded
On October 22, the Shanghai High School International Division (SHSID) High School held an award ceremony for its charity fair, marking the successful conclusion of a recent series of charitable activities. The MTC, SciAcademy, and Dynamic Donations clubs were honored for their outstanding creativity, planning, and organizational execution. Their performance in terms of public welfare impact and activity innovation received unanimous recognition from teachers and students.
As a school tradition, this year's event not only continued the spirit of athletic competition on the track but also demonstrated the long-term commitment and unwavering dedication of teachers and students to community service through the club charity fair and charity run.
At the charity fair, various clubs fully showcased their creativity, offering a wide range of products, including handmade beverages and crafts, which attracted teachers and students to stop and engage. Although each booth had its unique presentation, they all conveyed the same message of goodwill—all proceeds from the sale would be used to support those in need. For many students, the charity sale was more than a shopping experience. Instead, it was a chance to connect by discovering new clubs and unlocking aspects of life they had previously found uninteresting. They saw their small acts – buying a drink, a gift for a friend, a treat – could contribute to something far greater within their community. Conversely, club members explained their initiatives, delving deeply into their passions for science, the arts, and philanthropy.

Meanwhile, the charity run commenced once again on the green field. Following tradition, the participating teachers, who raced valiantly after being voted through by faculty and student donations, spurred them on with a competitive and enthusiastic spirit, while also acknowledging that they are contributing their part to help the community around them.
SHSID has always regarded public welfare education as an important way to cultivate students' sense of social responsibility. Over the years, the school has continuously carried out multiple practical projects with remarkable results: students regularly visit Hongmei Primary School to conduct extracurricular classes, bringing care and knowledge; they visit rehabilitation institutions for children with autism, such as Shanghai Silent Angel Kindergarten and Clover Children's Health Park, to offer companionship and warmth; and volunteer teams provide ongoing online English lessons to Primary School in Henan, building bridges through knowledge.
Charity is not just about raising funds but also about sustained action and the transmission of love. This year’s success reaffirmed and defined a trait within the SHSID community – a belief that education stems beyond academics, nurturing a sense of belonging and understanding communal responsibility. Although the event has concluded, the acts of kindness, like the warm autumn sun, continues to illuminate hearts and brighten someone else’s days.
