Grade 9 Assembly: Creativity and Perseverance

November 7, 2025

In the morning of November 4, ninth graders gathered in the ZXB B1 Atrium for the Week 10 Assembly, featuring student group presentations and an inspiring speech from a fellow classmate. The STEM Doge team kicked off the assembly by promoting their upcoming Bit Day, which will include interactive activities such as AI trivia, digital art, and quick problem-solving challenges. Each activity encourages students to explore creativity through technology and engage with innovation in fun, hands-on ways. Next, the Associated Student Body (ASB) premiered a thrilling trailer for its upcoming large-scale event, Circuscape, scheduled for December 12. The circus-themed teaser drew enthusiastic reactions as students eagerly anticipated the creative, high-energy activity.

Finally, Sharon from Class 9(3) delivered an inspiring speech on perseverance, self-motivation, and her journey in computer science. She reflected on overcoming procrastination by taking opportunities before feeling ready and shared how joining contests and founding Supedu, a cross-disciplinary study group, helped her grow. She emphasized that computer science is more than coding—it is a way to model how the world works and connect creativity with logic across all fields.

Through engaging club promotions, dynamic announcements, and an empowering student speech, this week’s assembly highlighted SHSID’s culture of curiosity, collaboration, and continuous growth and inspired everyone.
