Listening to the Masters, Inspiring Young Minds — Youth Dialogue with Chief Scientists
Recently, the "Youth Dialogue with Chief Scientists" series at SHSID Primary and Middle School officially kicked off as scheduled. This session focused on the field of computer science and featured three distinguished guests: Prof. Qi Zhengwei from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Prof. Li Qingli from East China Normal University, and Researcher Sun Yuling from Fudan University. The three experts held an in-depth, face-to-face dialogue with SHSID students.

During the event, the speakers shared cutting-edge developments and innovative practices from diverse areas, including artificial intelligence algorithms, software system engineering, human-computer interaction, computational thinking, and more. Prof. Li introduced recent progress in remote sensing and lunar exploration. Researcher Sun discussed the applications of HCI technologies in fields such as social computing and health care. Prof. Qi elaborated on the latest advancements in system and network security. Through engaging and accessible explanations, they demonstrated how computer science embodies both technological depth and humanistic values.

This dialogue series reflects SHSID's educational philosophy of "nurturing passion and inspiring potential." By connecting young students with the frontiers of scientific research, the program fosters the integration of scientific thinking and humanistic qualities. Through direct conversations with scientists, students not only learn about the latest technological developments but also gain a deeper understanding of the critical thinking, curiosity, and social responsibility essential to scientific inquiry.

As an integral part of the division's science and technology curriculum, the "Dialogue with Chief Scientists" program will continue to expand and deepen. Through interaction with leading scholars, students are guided not only to acquire professional knowledge but also to appreciate the humanistic care and innovative spirit at the heart of scientific research, supporting their growth into future talents with solid academic foundations, independent thinking skills, and a strong sense of social responsibility.
