Pudong Campus: Art Festival: Kids' Rhythms Paint Winter Bright, Art Makes Campus Shine Just Right

December 18, 2025

On December 16th, the 2025 Art Festival of SHSID on Pudong Campus kicked off at the Xuhui Campus Grand Auditorium. More than a talent showcase, this event served as a cross-grade and cross-cultural bond— spreading the warmth of art at year-end. Mr. Liu Lian, Principal of SHSID Middle and Primary School, Ms. Liu Fang, Vice Principal of SHSID Middle and Primary School, Mr. Shen Tianyuan, Vice Principal of SHSID Middle and Primary School, and Mr. Wu Xiaodong, Director of SHSID Pudong Campus, joined the students in the spectacular performances. The parents were also invited to share in this grand event. Let's review the splendid moments of the art festival together!

Eight young hosts kicked off the festival. The instrumental trio Liz and Birds set a poetic tone, followed by an elegant ballet performance and collaborative dance We're All in This Together, highlighting the cohesion and youthfulness on display.

Pure vocals of Why We Sing, graceful Chinese dances Flowers in the Rain and Jasmine of Miaoling, and dynamic martial arts shows all wowed the audience. Other highlights included the dance Grandpa's Brewed Tea, recorder solo Fisherman's Song, ukulele Remember Me, and the musical Coco. After the faculty dance team ignited the venue with passion, a thrilling lucky draw took center stage— followed by the healing instrumental piece Carrying You and the humorous manzai performance Boxing Champion Showdown.

Second graders' group dance I Want to Leave Langlang Mountain resonated with the audience, while Tiger and Stay Brighter Stay Stronger kept the energy high. Hip-hop medley, Chinese Kungfu dance, and Dancing in the Street continued the excitement. The ukulele plays The Bare Necessities, bringing relaxed joy with its simple tune, while the recorder's White Christmas adds a warm, wintry charm to the performance. The festival concluded with the band Nuclear Family and finale dance Green Light.

As the last note faded, applause erupted. Parents captured their children's shining moments, teachers beamed with pride, and backstage performers cheered up each other. This event was a vivid application of the CME curriculum's "Confident Blooming" concept, letting students express themselves and connect through the arts.
