AI Empowering Grassroots Innovation – The 2025 "Little Grass Cup" Concludes Successfully
On December 24, 2025, the annual teacher professional development event for the SHSID High School, the "Little Grass Cup," was held in the Xianmian Building. This year's event, themed "AI Empowers Innovation" showcased the practical achievements and deep reflections of high school teachers in the integration of artificial intelligence and education.
In the first half, Ms. Liu Shan, Director of High School Teachers Center provided a detailed introduction to the development process and application framework of SHSID High School’s "Generative AI Usage Guidelines (Version 1.2)." Developed through multiple rounds of discussions and case studies, the guidelines clarify the supportive role and boundaries of AI in educational contexts. This was followed by an awards ceremony honoring 24 teachers for their practical cases, which spanned three award categories: the AI-Transformed Teaching Award, the AI-Boosted Productivity Award, and the AI-Integrated Assessment Award.

The award-winning cases reflected a clear educational value orientation. Chinese teachers used AI visualization tools to deepen textual interpretation, guiding students from "reading images" back to "reading people." Mathematics teachers utilized AI to conduct personalized training, helping students transition from "problem-solving" to "problem-posing." Psychology classes employed AI dialogue frameworks to support cognitive restructuring, emphasizing the balance between "tool use" and "self-awareness." Career planning courses used AI as an informational scaffold to cultivate students' independent research and decision-making skills. Across scenarios such as science experiments, project-based learning, and administrative management, teachers demonstrated the practical wisdom of "empowering with technology without overstepping"—consistently positioning AI as a scaffold to assist thinking, rather than a shortcut to replace students' independent thought and emotional engagement.
In his concluding remarks, Principal Ma emphasized, "Truly valuable educational innovation lies not in how cutting-edge the technology is, but in how teachers use professional judgment to harness technology and safeguard the human element in education. The most valuable aspect of these cases is the collective awareness of the principle of 'assistance, not replacement.'"

In the second half, eight parallel workshops were held in various classrooms of the Xianmian Building. Centered around the dual themes of "Functional Technology" and "Scenario Application," the workshops offered diverse training in areas ranging from AI data processing and intelligent agent development to personalized teaching and psychological support. Beyond tool operation, the workshops delved into critical issues such as academic ethics and the boundaries of human-AI collaboration.

The 2025 "Little Grass Cup" concluded in an atmosphere blending rationality and enthusiasm. The event not only demonstrated the professional approach of the High School teachers in responding to technological change but also highlighted a collective consensus on upholding the original purpose of education in the AI era—ensuring that technology truly serves the deepening of thought, the resonance of emotion, and the holistic growth of individuals.
