SHSID and ECUST School of Chemical Engineering Jointly Build a Platform for Student Practice and Innovation

On the afternoon of December 29, 2025, the signing ceremony for the cooperation agreement on fostering student innovation and practical abilities between Shanghai High School International Division and the School of Chemical Engineering of East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST) was successfully held in Room 201 of the Xianmian Building at Shanghai High School. The official signing of the agreement by both parties marked the beginning of a new chapter of in-depth collaboration to cultivate top innovative talent.

The signing ceremony commenced promptly at 4:00 PM. Attendees witnessing the event included Professor Song Zhen, Vice Dean of the ECUST School of Chemical Engineering; Professor Chen Long from the same school; Mr. Ma Feng, High School Principal of SHSID; Ms. Gu Ying, Director of School Affairs Center of High School; Mr. Sun Hao, Head of the Chemistry Department; Mr. Liao Hui, high school STEAMS coordinator; and International Division chemistry teachers Ms. Zhou Dandan and Ms. Liu Jialong.

At the start of the ceremony, the host introduced the distinguished guests from both institutions. Following this, representatives from the two schools engaged in a warm exchange, discussing how to leverage the university's high-quality scientific research resources and the high school's international education platform to collaboratively cultivate students' scientific literacy, innovative thinking, and practical abilities. They expressed great anticipation for the future prospects of the partnership. Subsequently, witnessed by all attendees, representatives from both sides formally signed the cooperation agreement and took commemorative group photos. After the ceremony, Professor Song Zhen and Professor Chen Long were invited to participate in an international faculty social event, concluding the activities amidst laughter and camaraderie.

By establishing this cooperation mechanism, both parties will actively explore effective models for joint talent development between universities and high schools. The collaboration is expected to involve substantive interactions across multiple levels, including curriculum development, laboratory visits, project guidance, and academic lectures, jointly dedicated to nurturing future reserves of scientific and technological innovation talent.
