Middle School Science Department: From Theory to Practice: Students Discover the Real "Heartstrings" in Dissection Class

January 4, 2026

On December 29, seventh-grade students took their anatomy lessons to the next level with a hands-on heart dissection. After learning the theory behind the circulatory system, it was time to put "knowledge into action" and explore the wonders of biology firsthand.

With guided precision, students identified the four chambers, valves, and major vessels of the heart. Most surprisingly, they saw firsthand the "heartstrings"—the chordae tendineae—which are rarely detailed in textbooks but frequently mentioned in literature. This discovery instantly bridged the gap between rational science and emotional literature, sparking bursts of amazement and spirited discussion throughout the classroom. This lab was more than just a science lesson; it was an interdisciplinary journey. Our educators remain committed to creating hands-on experiences that help students find the truth in science and the beauty in life, fostering well-rounded growth for every learner.
