Middle and Primary School English Department: Wax Museum Brings Learning to Life!— Puxi Campus Fourth Grade PBA
Our fourth graders recently transformed the Hsi building into a living Wax Museum, and it was a huge success! In this special project, students researched a real person in the performing arts and became a "wax figure" for the day. When visitors stopped by their display, the statues came to life and shared interesting facts about their person's early life, achievements, and impact.

Leading up to the big event, students worked through each step of the project during their English classes. They carefully read biographies, practiced finding important information, and learned how to organize their ideas into clear sections – culminating in students writing informative paragraphs and creating vibrant display boards. These essential skills connected directly to our English learning goals, including reading informational texts, writing clearly about what students learn, and speaking with confidence.

When the Wax Museum arrived, the excitement was hard to miss! Students proudly stayed in character, presented their work, and enjoyed sharing their learning with fellow students and teachers as several grade levels visited the museum, asking questions and exploring each display.

The Wax Museum was not only a great way to show what students learned but also enabled them to strengthen their English public speaking skills. We are so proud of our fourth graders for their creativity and enthusiasm!
