Grade 9 Assembly: Witnessing Words and Light

On the morning of January 6, Grade 9 students attended their weekly assembly at Zhongxing Theater. Upon opening, members from the SHSID Times magazine enthusiastically announced the publication of their Autumn issue. This issue centers on the history of the Campus, using “Across the Longmen Gate” as its theme, and branches out into stories about hope, resilience, and overcoming obstacles. The Autumn Issue is especially significant this year, because it includes a decent number of articles written by freshman authors. Through this medium, students are free to share their own stories of campus life at SHSID and take a look at others’ experiences.


Following this announcement, students and teachers warmly welcomed Allen from class 9 (10) to share his experience regarding photography. Allen gave a detailed introduction to photography, including choosing equipment and essential skill sets, such as composition and specific parameters that determine a photograph's effects. He specifically emphasized the significant role of interest and encouraged the audience to maintain it through activities such as travel. In addition, Allen displayed a video composed of his own astonishing photographs, which piqued the students’ interest in photography.


Upon completing the assembly, students and teachers held the award ceremony for “Young Voice, China Stories”. This activity provided students with a chance to showcase their unique voices and achieved great success, with SHSID students actively participating. Congratulations to all the awarded students!
