High School Physics Department: Joint Training in Digital Medicine and 3D Printing Applications

January 21, 2026

On the afternoon of January 19, High School Physics Department, in collaboration with the STEM Office, organized a unique experimental instrument demonstration and training session in the Digital Medicine and 3D Printing Laboratory (Room B204, Zhongxing Building). The event featured professional instructors from the Rehabilitation Medicine Department of the Ninth People's Hospital affiliated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Teachers from the Physics Department and the STEM Office, along with several students interested in the intersection of technology and medicine, participated in the training.

During the session, the instructor from Jiao Tong University systematically explained and demonstrated the human foot force analysis system, covering both dynamic and static detection modes, and showed how to customize orthotic insoles based on the test results. Subsequently, Mr. Liao from the STEM Office personally experienced the 3D scanning process of foot structure and the analysis of foot morphology under different stress conditions. The trainer then provided a detailed introduction to the complete workflow of using a 3D printer, offering step-by-step instructions from digital modeling to device debugging. Finally, participants learned about the functions and application scenarios of the human spinal scoliosis scanner. Both teachers and students showed great interest, actively engaging in hands-on operation and exploration.

This training not only broadened the participants' perspectives on rehabilitation engineering and measurement technologies but also laid a technical foundation for the deeper application of the school's related laboratory facilities. By continuously introducing cutting-edge equipment, the laboratory provides students with a platform to engage with modern technology. It also creates rich possibilities for future interdisciplinary PBL projects and early cultivation of high school student scientific innovation, further promoting the integration and development of STEM education and practical teaching at the school.
