Grade 12 “Reading Project”: Science Reading Meets Creative Shorts
The 12th-grade students carried out a unique and innovative "Reading Project" presentation activity this semester. Each class explored science-themed books such as Silent Spring, Why Milk is White, Tiangong Kaiwu, and The Science in Sherlock Holmes, using reading to spark their thinking and bring science to life within the pages.
But reading didn’t stop at the books! Under the guidance of their teachers, students transformed their insights and scientific discoveries into creative short films—each around five minutes—using AI tools to make the knowledge truly “come alive.” From scientific principles to creative concepts, from visual presentation to storytelling, every step challenged students’ minds and hands alike, allowing knowledge, imagination, and AI technology to collide in exciting new ways. The project initiator, Mr. Ma, said, “We hope students discover the charm of science through independent reading, while also expressing their thinking using modern digital tools, making learning more vivid and fun.”
The students’ imaginative creations and lively stories turned science reading into more than just books—it became an interdisciplinary, tech-powered creative experience. With their innovative approach, the 12th graders made science reading engaging, fun, and full of technology!
