Lin'gang Campus: After-school Clubs

April 23, 2026

On the vibrant grounds of the Lin'gang Campus, after-school life for our students is about much more than homework and play. Each club opens a door to a new world, and every activity is a journey of self-discovery and growth.

Gardening Club: Sky Garden – Sowing Seeds of Green and Poetry

Thanks to Lingang’s natural environment, the long-awaited “Sky Garden” has come back to life this semester. Our young gardeners left their classrooms and stepped into the open air, beginning a gentle dialogue with the earth. They first learned the basics indoors: what do plants need to grow? How do seeds awaken? What silent understanding exists between soil, sunlight, water, and nutrients? The children took careful notes and asked eager questions, building a foundation for hands-on practice. Up on the rooftop garden, the real exploration began. Transplanting seedlings, building climbing frames, watering on schedule, applying fertilizer – every action brought textbook knowledge to life. The Gardening Club is more than a relaxing break; it is a living nature lesson. In the soil and sweat, they learned to cooperate, to wait, and to take responsibility.

Creative Workshop: Pottery & 3D Printing – Making Imagination Tangible

Pottery and 3D printing clubs sit side by side – one carries the warmth of clay, the other explores the frontiers of digital technology. Together, they build a bridge that turns imagination into reality. In the pottery club, children’s hands are covered in clay, but their eyes are full of focus. From kneading and shaping to glazing, every step requires patience. When a simple lump of clay transforms into a small bowl or a cute little spider, they truly feel the magic of creation. The 3D printing club takes students onto technology’s fast track. Using Nomad on iPads, they design models – from concept to detail – challenging their spatial thinking. When the printer turns the virtual image on their screen into a tangible keychain, the children cannot hide their amazement. From virtual to real, from imagination to object, this experience ignites a passion for innovation. Pottery stays grounded in clay, while 3D printing reaches toward the future. Two different creative paths lead to the same lesson: with imagination and courage, even the wildest ideas can become real.

Arts Club: Song and Dance – Lighting Up Childhood’s Melody

The arts clubs are a warm harbor where children express themselves and release their emotions. In the dance club, young dancers start with basic posture and learn to tell stories with their bodies. Every stretch and turn is a personal challenge. When a complete dance is finally presented, the confidence and smiles on their faces are more precious than any applause. The singing club is a playground of voices. From breathing exercises to harmonic blending, the children gradually find their own sound. Whether through dance steps or songs, they share the beauty and innocence of childhood with the world in their own unique ways.

Sports Clubs: Wide Horizons – Witnessing Effort and Achievement

With open spaces, standard running tracks, a swimming pool, green soccer fields, and nearby water for kayaking, the Lingang Campus offers an ideal stage for sports clubs. In the swimming club, children glide through the water like little fish, each stroke building courage and persistence. On the soccer field, young players run, pass, and shoot; on the basketball court, they jump, shoot, and defend. Sweat soaks their shirts, but smiles remain on their faces. The kayaking club makes full use of the campus’s waterfront location – every paddle forward tests their courage and coordination. In the running club, children sprint and jog in the open air, learning with every step that persistence itself is a reward.

Chess Club: A Game of Wisdom on the Checkerboard

In the chess club, quiet concentration masks intense mental battles. The children sit around the boards, either deep in thought or making decisive moves. Every move is a choice. During matches, they learn focus, patience, and respect for their opponents. Once a piece is placed, it cannot be taken back – this is the principle of “no regrets in moving a piece.” The small board holds great wisdom. A single game does not take long, but it is enough to show the children that thinking hard can be truly enjoyable.

At Lin'gang Campus, every club is its own unique sky. Though the clubs are small, they hold big dreams; though after-school time is short, it can light up countless possibilities for childhood.
