High School | Enhancing Communication Skills to Empower Student Growth: Teachers' Training Session Held
On May 12, 2026, SHSID High School Division held a specialized teachers' training session on "Enhancing Communication Skills to Empower Student Growth" in the B1 Lecture Hall of Zhentao Building. The meeting was hosted by Principal Ma Feng and attended by all administrative staff, homeroom teachers, and staff from the College Counseling Office, Teacher Advisor Office, STEAMS Office, and the Student Center.
The training was closely aligned with real-life educational scenarios. Representatives from various departments shared their communication experiences and educational reflections based on their daily practice. Representing homeroom teachers, Ms. Fu delved into the multifaceted roles of homeroom teachers throughout a student's high school journey. Ms. Ye from the TA Office shared professional methodologies to enhance the efficacy of home-school communication. Ms. Zhu from the STEAMS Office discussed how to turn challenges into breakthroughs and rebuild team trust during science and innovation competitions. Ms. Zhang from the CC Office introduced the core philosophy of "Warm Empathy and Scientific Guidance". She advocated for uncovering students' true needs through open-ended questions and protecting students' sense of hope through flexible guidance. Furthermore, she emphasized the professional "red line" of protecting student privacy, requiring all faculty members to strictly regulate communication settings and information-sharing boundaries.

During the interactive session, teachers distilled key communication terms, including "Professionalism, Patience, Empathy, Understanding, Calmness, Boundaries, Alignment, Listening, and Privacy," further clarifying the essence and core requirements of educational communication.
In the case study session, the faculty conducted in-depth discussions of seven high-frequency scenarios, including university applications, behavioral standards, course selection guidance, and essay tutoring. Through these discussions, they established unified core strategies and standard procedures. The teacher reached a consensus that educational communication must adhere to principled boundaries while demonstrating humanistic care, always taking students' healthy growth as the fundamental starting point.
Finally, Principal Ma delivered a concluding speech, drawing from his own experiences in communicating with parents. He emphasized that teachers should develop a habitual practice of "reflection and review". While upholding educational principles, teachers must constantly reflect on their communication methods and the scale of their expression. He also encouraged faculty to accumulate experience through cross-departmental collaboration to build a powerful synergy for student development.

Moving forward, SHSID High School Division will continue to focus on improving teachers' professional capabilities, safeguarding every student through more professional communication and greater energy, and together, nurturing the growth of every child.
