Grades 9-10: Club Showcase

June 12, 2026

On the afternoon of June 10, the Club Showcase for Grades 9 and 10 was held outside the Zhongxing Building with great enthusiasm. More than twenty student-led clubs gathered, spanning a wide range of fields, including science, the humanities, social responsibility, the arts, and sports. Each club brought its own character to the event. On this vibrant afternoon, students eagerly shared their interests and talents, fully demonstrating the rich and diverse campus culture of Shanghai High School International Division and the pioneering spirit of its students.

The atmosphere was electric as clubs showcased their "master skills." The Rising Star of Chemistry club highlighted its research achievements and competition awards; the International Affairs Association (IAA) shared honors earned by its members at MUN conferences around the world; the newly established Medical Club invited students to practice hands-on CPR on professional training models and learn basic first aid, drawing a large, engaged crowd; the High School Opera Club delivered a beautiful live performance; the Linguistics Club prepared postcards from around the globe and engaged students in fun, interactive games to share knowledge about linguistics, vividly reflecting the school’s international and multicultural environment. A sports-related club also set up booths, inviting students to try trendy new sports and experience the energy and passion of physical activity.

What was particularly touching was the warmth and care shown by several charity clubs. These clubs support children with autism and the visually impaired, organizing regular activities such as companionship sessions and handicraft classes. The displayed photos and beautiful handmade crafts not only captured moments of compassion but also deeply moved every student who stopped by.

The interactive activities were equally exciting, with clubs designing quizzes, drawing sessions, and fun games that drew enthusiastic participation from many students. A sales booth featuring student-designed cultural and creative products — including badges, stationery, toys, and magazines — proved highly popular. All proceeds from this charity sale will go toward public welfare causes.

This showcase not only allowed students to appreciate the diverse interests, talents, and innovative spirit within the SHSID community but also helped each person find something they truly love beyond the classroom. Whether in academic exploration, artistic expression, community service, or sports, every club offers a unique platform for growth and connection. As the event came to a successful close, many students are already looking forward to next semester’s club life — because here, there is always a club waiting for you to shine.
