G6: Spring Field Trip to Shanghai Wild Animal Park

April 3, 2023

Spring is in full swing and everything is coming back to life, indicating a great time for a field trip. On the afternoon of 30 March, students from Grade 6 went on a spring trip to the Shanghai Wild Animal Park. Everyone was very excited about their long-awaited annual spring trip.

The morning drizzle did not dampen their enthusiasm in any way. After three periods of classes, the students took the school bus to the Shanghai Wild Animal Park. Upon arrival, they visited the Beast Zone together. Through the glass windows, many students saw the "familiar faces" in textbooks or documentaries, from peacocks, antelopes, and camels in Asia to zebras, giraffes, and cheetahs in the African grasslands. The students were captivated by the beauty and wonder of these animals and were all glued to the glass windows, unable to take their eyes off them. The atmosphere on the bus reached its peak when the king of the jungle, the tiger, appeared, with everyone exclaiming and clicking pictures to capture the moment excitedly.

After the amazing journey through the Beast Zone, students were free to move around in pre-determined groups. The weather was beautiful and the misty spring rain stopped at this time. Each group had its own destination, with some going to Lemur Island to interact with the cute little guys, some going to the Largemouth Promenade to see all kinds of exotic birds, and some others taking a leisurely boat trip on the lake to feed the birds while they paddled.

The students were full of energy and enthusiasm throughout the spring excursion. On the way back, everyone was still talking happily about what they had seen and heard, and couldn’t wait to share interesting photos with each other. These photos will later be made into the posters, so that more people can feel the joy of the spring trip and the magic of nature. Let’s look farward to the poster exhibition!
