Puxi Campus G2-3: Ice-skating Class Started!
After witnessing the demeanor of the athletes in the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games, the G2 and G3 students at Puxi campus started ice skating class with enthusiasm and expectations.
It is the first time for second graders to try the ice skating class. As soon as the students entered the rink, they shared everything with happiness- smooth ice, cute ice chairs, as well as rows of professional protective equipment. "Ice journey" officially begins! The first challenge for all kids was to wear protective gear. The coach demonstrated to the class how to wear the protective gear at the beginning of class, and then students started to practice by themselves. Change skates, wear knee pads, elbow pads, helmets... With the help of coaches and teachers, students completed the wearing of protective gear successfully. The skilled students, who finished putting on the equipment early and quickly, turned into "little teachers" to help their classmates. The second challenge was to prepare for the ice. All students were dressed neatly, stood in line at the edge of the rink, and entered the rink in turn. Some kids, who held the ice chair for support, were standing trembling on the ice, and moving forward little by little. Some were confident, just waiting for an order to show their ice-skating skill. At this moment, they turned into little warriors on the ice rink, challenging themselves, and radiating light.
Compared with the nervousness and anxiety of their peers during their first test last year, this group of third-grade children who were about to enter the ice rink listened to their peers' valuable experience and advice, entering the ice rink with more confidence. However, most of the children were still beginners. Facing the unfamiliar ice surface, they seemed to have been subjected to a "Freezing Charm", holding the "little dolphin" for a long time and they dared not move. Watching their partners set off one by one, they gradually gathered up their courage and began to move forward slowly, step by step. One meter...two meters...three meters...turning around, only to realize that they had traveled such a long way! A sense of accomplishment arose spontaneously, and bright smiles suddenly bloomed on all the little faces. At that moment, they felt the joy of being challenged. The mutual help among the children also made the ice rink heat up rapidly. Some children dared not move, and everyone stepped forward to encourage them; some children fell down, and everyone cared about them; when some children made progress, everyone praised each other. In these precious moments, the children once again felt the power of unity.
A small ice rink is a beautiful and free world for children. They enjoy happiness here, exercise their will, and learn to cooperate here. The charm of skating is still waiting for these ice elves to continue to explore and discover...
