MFP Charity Concert

October 21, 2022

On the afternoon of October 14th, SHSID’s MFP club arrived at Renji Hospital once again this year, and held a special charity concert called the "2022 Dedication to the 20th National Congress" for patients and medical staff. During the pandemic, the members of the club used performances to spread love and care to patients and medical staff.

The concert kicked off with G9 student Enzo's solo piano piece - Liszt's "Gnonmemreign". The piece presented a colorful musical world with fast ornaments and tight triplets, which won him the applause of the audience. Another pianist, Jessica from G8, played “Bagatelle in E flat”, a piece written with great skill which is elegant, lyrical, and lively with emotion. Nicole from G9 performed the brisk and playful “My Neighbor Totoro”. G6’s Alice perfectly performed a piece praised as the most classical sonata, the first movement of Haydn's “Sonata in E flat major”. Sophie from G11 played the piano rock solo "Jingo" by Christopher Norton, which is refreshing with a lively and cheerful rhythm. From the dynamic melodies, the audience could truly enjoy and digest the charm of the music.

Olivia is a primary schooler in G3, and she presented “Allegro”. G9’s Olivia presented us with a beautiful piece from Hayao Miyazaki's cartoon. G8’s Edward played the cheerful "Mozart First Movement” with his flute. G8’s Justin sang a wonderful solo with "There's a Hero". The song encourages everyone to overcome the difficulties in life with warm emotions and embrace the enthusiastic hero that seems so perfect and distant.

Catie from G12 sang an original - "The Gift" - which interprets the determination to overcome difficulties and have a positive attitude towards life. G9’s Claire and Ocean performed the original song "Alone", expressing the courage to face loneliness with positivity. At the end, G8’s Olivia and Teresa completed the concert with a familiar ensemble - "The Most Beautiful Expectation". This piece represented the club’s best wishes for everyone, and it perfectly closed out the concert.

The SHSID club Music for People (MFP) was established in September 2016. For the past six years, it has been adhering to the founding concept of "transmitting love through music". This concert was the first performance organized by the 4th student core management team of MFP. Let us remain true to our original aspiration and work together to face the pandemic and embrace a better tomorrow!
