Grade 2 Native Chinese Group: Dear Spring, Thanks for Your Coming.

April 12, 2020

In the first week of April, the second-grade students completed a special homework called “A Special Message to Spring”. In this message, students wrote down words to describe what the spring looks like.

Dear spring,

How are you?I hugged you this morning and I’m glad to feel your warmth again. Thank you!

Do you know the winter of 2019 seems to be particularly long? When I woke up, I went to the window and looked down the trees in the garden. I hoped that you could come here, but I didn’t find you. I stood next to the window and smelled. I hoped that you could come here, butI didn’t find you. I always wonder why I cannot find you. Is it because I am at home? I felt very depressed.

On another morning, I heard birds sing outside. I ran to the window. Therewere so many green leaves on thebranches! They were shining under the sun! I opened the window and took a deep breath. “Spring is coming!” I shouted.

I was scared that I might lose you. So I made a decision. I would use my words and paintings to describe the spring. And then I would give it to my family, friends, and heroes in my country! In this way, even if you leave one day, I can still find you!

Look at my paintings! They are all about you! The other kids are also using the same way to show you that they don’t want you to go.

Now, I’d like to give you this specialmessageas a gift. Thank you for coming!

Love,

Grade 2
