SHSID Establishes Cooperative Relationship with the School of Resource and Environmental Engineering, ECUST

On the morning of November 12th 2019, Shanghai High School International Division (SHSID) established a cooperative relationship with the School of Resource and Environmental Engineering, ECUST (East China University of Science and Technology).

Mr. Liu Lian, Principal of the Middle and Primary School of SHSID, signed a cooperative agreement with Prof. Xiu Guangli, Party Secretary of the School of Resources and Environmental Engineering, ECUST.

Ms. Cao Na, Deputy Party Secretary of the School of Resources and Environmental Engineering, ECUST; Associate Prof. Sun Xianbo, Deputy Dean of the School of Resources and Environmental Engineering, ECUST; Ms. Shi Jing, Office Director of the School of Resources and Environmental Engineering, ECUST; Mr. Zhen Huajun, Specially-Appointed Associate Researcher of the School of Resources and Environmental Engineering, ECUST; Mr. Feng Zhigang, Principal of Shanghai High School (SHS); Ms. Luo Hua, Director of School Affairs Center of Middle and Primary School of SHSID; Ms. Yao Shenghua, Technical Instructor-general of the Middle and Primary School of SHSID also participated in the signing ceremony.

Before the ceremony, Mr. Feng Zhigang, Principal of SHS, had a cordial and friendly conversation with Prof. Xiu Guangli, Party Secretary of the School of Resources and Environmental Engineering, ECUST. Principal Feng offered a warm welcome and thanks to the staff members of the School of Resource and Environmental Engineering for visiting SHSID and signing a cooperative agreement with SHSID.

At the ceremony, Prof. Xiu Guangli introduced the history of the School of Resource and Environmental Engineering and its outstanding achievements. Prof. Xiu Guangli pointed out that it’s their responsibility to popularize ecological and environmental awareness, so they are very willing to support environmental science education in basic education.

Established in 1993, SHSID has widely accepted the essence of advanced education and has always been committed to cultivating international talent with a global view and Chinese complex. Mr. Liu Lian, Principal of the Middle and Primary School of SHSID, introduced the efforts made by SHSID to cultivate a sense of social responsibility and global citizenship among middle and primary school students. He also expressed his hope to improve students’ knowledge of environmental science by doing this. Ms. Luo Hua and Ms. Yao Shenghua introduced the construction of the school’s innovative curriculum and labs.

The School of Resource and Environmental Engineering and SHSID reached a consensus on cooperative modes and curriculum sets. Both partners said they will work together in-depth to implement the cooperation agreements. After the ceremony, accompanied by Principal Liu Lian, visitors from the School of Resource and Environmental Engineering visited the campus of SHSID and gained a deeper understanding of SHSID’s long history and rich teaching resources. Both partners expressed their intention to develop wider cooperation in order to explore new strategies and accumulate new experiences to allow our students to achieve more within science education.
