The Inheritance and Development of Traditional Chinese Culture—Chinese and Foreign Teachers Party
On December 2nd, Chinese and foreign teachers from grades 8 through 10 gathered in the cafeteria for the annual Chinese and Foreign Teachers Party.
In preparation for the celebration, the school selected some traditional Chinese cuisine for foreigners to try; including walnut crisps, twists, and green bean cakes. With their sleeves rolled up, hands washed, and everyone ready, the teachers then learned how to make famous traditional Chinese spring rolls and huntun. Many foreign teachers at the party had just arrived in Shanghai this year. For them, this cuisine is still very novel; they were excited to have the opportunity to try and make the food themselves. Although these traditional dishes are simple to make for Chinese teachers, foreign teachers encountered some small difficulties. The Chinese teachers were very warm-hearted and helped them patiently. The Chinese and foreign teachers also communicated and shared stories during the event. Chinese teachers also introduced other local cuisine, famous tourist attractions, and traditional festivals to foreign teachers to promote Chinese cultural heritage.
All the teachers look forward to more opportunities to meet each other and share more knowledge and stories together.
