Pudong Grade 2: Making Friends with Robots
In the afternoon of December 3rd, second grade students from Pudong campus finally had their exciting grade outing. This time, our destination was quite special: it was the Intel Robot Innovation Center, the first robot center in China! Luckily, it is pretty close to our campus, so we got there in no time.
Once we got there, the students noticed that there was a big robot standing in the front door welcoming us. Soon the students found out that this robot is really good at dancing, and happily started interacting with it. There were more intelligent robots hiding in the room, so the staff kindly showed the students where they were and explained how these robots work and what they can do.
We didn’t just come here to observe, we came here to learn. In order to inspire the students to find out the secrets behind the robots, the staff there prepared a workshop to teach the students the secret of coding. Some lucky students even got a chance to code the robot personally. It was definitely a magical experience for them to see the robots performing the commands set in their programing.
This wonderful field trip ended quite quickly. The students enjoyed it a lot, not only because they could make friends with robots, but because they picked up a magic key to the new world!
