Puxi Grade 3: Story Mom — Curious Garden

December 2, 2019

In the PG class on Nov 27th, Story Mom revisited Grade 3 classrooms and shared a wonderful story calledCurious Garden.

How could abandoned rusty railway tracks become a lush, green world? For ordinary people, it is almost impossible to imagine; however, in the story it is accomplished by a little boy named Liam. He is super curious and loves exploring. One day, he accidentally discovers a struggling garden and makes up his mind to take care of it. As time passes, the garden blooms again and becomes more vibrant.

This picture book illustrates how a boy achieves his dream with constant effort. Meanwhile, the story was originally inspired by the High Line in New York. After the story, all the kids got to watch a video about how the High Line park came into being. They were all amazed by how marvelous the transformation was. Story Mom gave each individual a pot and some seeds, with the hope of fostering better environmental awareness and inspiring them all to build up their own gardens with hard work.
