G7: Sports Meet Marching Practice
On Thursday, October 10th, Grades 6, 7, and 8 participated in a practice march for the Sports Meet. Grade 7 did especially well. The eleven classes marched in and performed their chosen sports with their respective Marvel heroes. Most of the classes let tall and strong students, such as Ryan Mei in 7(6), be the heroes; others, such as class 7(11), chose heroes for their agility.

In class 7(6), the hero was the Hulk, while the sport chosen was rugby. Seven boys played rugby, while two others performed the floss dance. Hulk helped their team win the game. Rugby is similar to American football, so participants need to be physically strong to succeed. Hulk has the strength to succeed in rugby! Ryan Mei, playing the Hulk, said, “I feel more powerful being in the body of Hulk. And also, it’s pretty fun, because we don’t do these activities very often.” Class 7 (6) were in good spirits and found it funny that the holes for the nostrils on the Hulk mask were too low, so Ryan had to breathe through the Hulk’s eyes!
While strength is required on the rugby field, class 7(11) chose a different sport that requires great precision and accuracy: bowling. Their hero, Spiderman, shot spider webs to cling to the walls. In 7(11)’s performance, six bowling pins, performed by members of the class, stood tall. The players couldn’t make the ball go straight. However, when Spiderman threw the ball, all the pins fell. According to one of the members of class, “the activity makes everyone look stupid, but it’s still very creative. Our bowling ball is ten times bigger than the original ball, so it makes hitting the first pin easier. I’m glad I’m in the last row.”

No one can disagree with the fact that all of the classes were creative. Well done to all of Grade 7, we hope everyone enjoys watching the march-in and performance!
